Global Weirding

Thomas L. Friedman talks about climate changes severely affecting Texas, while governor Rick Perry denies their existence.

Good points, mostly, but what amazes me is that he assumes that the answer to “Would you rather cut Social Security and Medicare or pay a little more per gallon of gas and make the country stronger, safer and healthier?” is obvious to everyone.

Many americans' lives are dependent on gasoline-powered vehicles, orders of magnitude more than Social Security or Medicare. Expand your audience, maaaan.
