Scientific facts about Uranus

  1. Uranus was discovered by William Herschel on March 13, 1781.
  2. Uranus is 31,763 miles in diameter.
  3. A resident of Uranus is called a Uranian.

  5. Uranus has a pale blue color, which is caused by the methane in its atmosphere.

  7. A day on Uranus is shorter than a day on Earth.
  8. An object that weighs 100 pounds on Earth would weigh about 90 pounds on Uranus.
  9. Scientists have a hard time understanding how Uranus managed to get so big.
  10. Uranus has only been visited once. If you think no one's ever been to Uranus, you're wrong. It happened. It wasn't a human though. It was a probe.
